Flavors of Tuscany

Join our small group for an intimate journey exploring a region brimming with living history, extraordinary family traditions, and an endearing farm-to-table way of life.  Meander through Tuscany’s colorful cities, cypress-studded hilltop towns, classic cucinas, and idyllic vineyards, exploring the Italian countryside that provides inspiration for artists, chefs, and vintners alike. With your small group, enjoy deluxe accommodations at luxurious Castello La Leccia, an impressive property amidst the serene Tuscan landscape.  Throughout the program, join hands-on culinary experiences with skilled chefs to learn the secrets of preparing traditional Tuscan cuisine and desserts, as well as partake in a lively cooking class followed by a lovely dinner at Badia a Coltibuono, a historic winery with origins dating back to 1051.  Experience all that this region has to offer including exploration of must-see highlights, including the Etruscan ruins in Volterra, plus Pienza and Siena—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  You will also tour the grounds of Podere Il Casale, an organic farm, and learn about the owners’ passion for the slow food movement.  Additionally, wander within the walled medieval village of Monteriggioni—a city along the ancient pilgrim road of Via Francigena and visit Abbadia a Isola to see the medieval abbey with a stroll around the charming hilltop village of Castellina in Chianti.
