The UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) invites you to our virtual "Power of Internships" career panel.

Internships have the power to kick-start careers and are an effective way to build an impressive resume. How do you get one or find out if they are right for you? Hear from Bruin alumni who will share their success stories and provide insights into how they turned internships into great career moves at Nike, Google and Bellwether Asset Management. The UCLA Career Center will also join us to share all of its internship resources.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in learning more about exciting professions and how internships have helped alumni grow in their respective careers. Whether you already know you want to pursue internships or are just curious about what they are all about, this career panel is for you!

Stephen Jesus Mendoza '17, M.B.A. Exp. '23: Stephen is a proud double Bruin who expects to graduate with his M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management in June 2023. At UCLA Anderson, Stephen became interested in a career in sports. He obtained an internship at Nike where he will begin working as a Finance Manager in Beaverton, Oregon after graduation. He is the current co-president of UCLA’s Alliance for Latinx Management at Anderson (ALMA).

Britney Martinez Velarde '22: Britney is a first-generation UCLA alumna. She works in digital strategy at Google serving as an internal scaled consultant for SMB's. Prior to Google, she worked with multiple entrepreneurs at local businesses and the UCLA Anderson Venture Accelerator program. By merging her experiences and passions she is inspired to help others create an impact.

Jonjairo Mercado Nuñez ‘22: Jonjairo is a recent graduate and earned his B.A. in sociology. During his time at UCLA, Jonjairo was involved in the Bruin Real Estate Association and the Latino Business Student Association board. Jonjairo has completed internships with firms in commercial real estate and most notably with CBRE Investment Management. Jonjairo currently works as an underwriter for Bellwether Real Estate Capital.
