Mixin' It Up

Mixin’ It Up programs create welcoming and socially engaging spaces for alumni from diverse backgrounds to ignite new conversations and build relationships with students, campus and community leaders, and fellow UCLA alumni. Hosted in a wide range of spaces throughout California, these events encourage alumni to explore the richness of our city and state while fostering meaningful connections that transcend generation and lines of difference.

Past Programs

This event took place on October 19, 2023 at the De Neve Plaza. Sustainability encompasses the intersection of environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability. From making small changes to our day-to-day routines, to uplifting historically marginalized communities, to mitigating long-standing poor environmental practices, sustainability is multifaceted and intersects with every sphere of life. Following a facilitated discussion and Q&A with Nisha Bansal, Alumni Diversity Network leaders engaged with current students over dinner to reflect on sustainability strategies and build opportunities for them to stay connected.

This event took place September 9, 2023 at South LA Cafe. The aim of this casual mixer was to create a welcoming space for our Diversity Network leaders to gather, connect, and showcase their communities to those interested in getting involved. All networks play a vital role in the Bruin community and this event encouraged attendees from all walks of life to stay in community with UCLA.
